Accompaniment Program

AIJN works to address the many barriers that immigrants face in accessing legal representation. One of these major barriers is transportation. Through our Accompaniment Program, volunteers provide transportation, companionship, and assistance to our immigrant neighbors as they pursue pathways to legal status and comply with federal immigration requirements. This includes immigration court hearings, ICE and ISAP check-ins, immigration legal consultations, and other required appointments. The simple presence of volunteers accompanying our clients in solidarity can make a tense and scary situation a bit easier.
